Your programme's administrator is often the quickest help with your account: a forgotten password, a disabled account, or signing in with Apple, Google or Microsoft.
Common questions
How do I get an account?
Your programme's administrator creates it on your DHIS2 server and gives you a username and password. There is no sign-up in the app.
What do I enter as the server?
The address your programme gave you, starting with https://. For the Family Adoption Programme it is https://fap.plhi.us. You can also scan a QR code of the address with the QR button inside the Server address field.
The app says "Set a passcode on this phone"
The app keeps health records, so it opens only on a phone protected by a passcode. Set one in the phone's settings (on iPhone, Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode; on Android, Security or Screen lock), then open the app again.
Why does the app ask for my face, fingerprint or passcode?
The app locks when it is opened and after 5 minutes in the background, and opens with the phone's own lock. This keeps the records safe if someone else picks up your phone.
How do I send my records to the server?
Open the app and tap Sync now. The app does not sync in the background. While it is open, it also tries again by itself when the connection comes back. Each record shows whether it has reached the server.
A record shows an error after syncing
The app never hides a sync error. Open the record to read the server's message, correct what it points to, and sync again. If the message is unclear, write to us with the message and the time it appeared. Please leave out family names and health details.
Why are my records hidden?
If your server has not accepted your login for 30 days, the app hides all records until a sync reaches the server. A countdown appears in the sync bar 7 days before. Connect to the internet and tap Sync now. If the sync fails because your password changed, sign in again with the new one.
Signing in with Apple, Google or Microsoft does not work
Your server must know the email address of the account you sign in with. Ask your administrator to put that address in the OpenID field of your DHIS2 account, written exactly the same way, capital letters included. Until then, sign in with your username and password.
The app will not let me log out
Logging out removes all records from the phone, so the app refuses while some have not reached the server. Tap Sync now, fix any errors it shows, and try again.
I lost my phone
Tell your programme's administrator at once, so they can disable your account. That stops the phone from syncing. The records on it are encrypted and cannot be opened without the phone's own lock. Records that had not been synced cannot be recovered.
I have a new phone
Sync on the old phone first. Then install the app on the new phone and sign in: it downloads your records from the server. Records are not copied in phone backups, by design.
How do I delete my account?
Use the account deletion page, or ask your programme's administrator.
What you need
- An iPhone with iOS 17 or later, or an Android phone with Android 12 or later.
- A passcode on the phone. Face or fingerprint unlock is optional.
- An account on a DHIS2 server with a tracker programme. The app is tested with DHIS2 2.43.
- An internet connection to sign in and to sync. Recording works without one.
Write to us
Fill in the form and press the button. Your email app opens with the message written out, so that you can check it and send it. Please do not include family names or health details.
